The fragrance of her perfume, the sound of his voice, the noise that signified your child’s presence, the motherly call that all kids recognize…the arguments that seemed so huge but are currently no more…these are the realities that a family must deal with when they lose a loved one for whatever reason…. these are, however, the usual daily thoughts of family members when their loved one is away at war.  The collection of “pieces” here represents the emotions across the spectrum of individuals that share the world of a Soldier.

My prayer is that every individual that reads a single “piece” or the entire collection will somewhere connect with their own emotions, triumph, and pain of their loved one being a Soldier at war.
